Membership

Music Boosters, a parent-run 501c(3) organization. With nearly 350 high school students and over 600 middle school students enrolled in music classes each year, we know that this community supports music education.

The EGR Music Boosters supports the music programs of EGRHS and EGRMS: band, orchestra, and choir. Support for the programs is devoted to those items that will enhance music education and achievement for the students involved in the programs but not those items required to implement the core curriculum of EGRPS. In addition to financial support, the EGR Music Boosters recruits volunteers to support the music programs as needed and requested by the music teachers. The EGR Music Boosters seeks to fill in the funding gaps of the EGRPS music education programs and to bring excellence in music to the EGR community.  

Annually, the EGR Music Boosters raises $25,000-$30,000 through a variety of methods - membership fees, donations, and fundraisers. Funds raised support the following activities of the programs: 

• Instructional support for the marching band program

• Maintenance of the uniforms for all programs

• Accompaniment for the choir and orchestra programs

• New music and clinicians for all programs

• Scholarships for individual summer programs

• Clinicians and judges for Festival 

• Senior gifts and scholarships

The revenue raised currently comes from two primary sources: membership dues and the annual fall fundraiser (ham sale). Each raises ~$10,000 for the boosters. The scholarship concerts and winter fundraiser raise most of the remaining funds with the balance coming from other activities such as flower sales and yard sign sales.  The funds never languish in the accounts, and are put immediately to use that year.
