East Grand Rapids (EGR) Music Boosters is a non-profit organization comprised of parent volunteers who believe music education is an integral part of public education, providing intangible benefits that enrich the lives of all East Grand Rapids students and our community. We support our outstanding teachers who, in turn, inspire our kids. With nearly 350 high school students and over 600 middle school students enrolled in music classes each year, we know that this community supports music education to aid in the development of the whole child individually and as part of our larger community.
We raise more than $30,000 for district-wide music programs through fundraisers and donations. Each music teacher in every building received grants to supplement departmental budgets. In addition, Music Boosters help cover the cost of accompanists, band camp instructors, enrichment opportunities, judges for middle school solo and ensemble, uniforms, and technology. More than 30 students receive financial support for private lessons and summer camps.
